Virtual Machine

To complete the homeworks, you must download a VM. You can find the login and usage information in the user manual (and its errata). To run the VM, you can use VMware Workstation (for Windows) or VMware Fusion (for Mac OS); both are available from TERPware. (You may also be able to use a free virtualization package like VirtualBox, but I have no experience with it and I won't be able to answer quesions).

Your homework must work within the Virtual Machine (VM) that we provide you.

Download a separate VM for the first problem of Homework 2.

The GRACE System

You will submit your homeworks and your paper critiques from the GRACE machines. This means that you have to copy your files into your GRACE filesystem, SSH into grace.umd.edu, and use the submit command as described below.

The path to the submit command is /afs/glue.umd.edu/class/fall2015/enee/757/0101/bin/submit. The command takes one file at a time, and you must invoke it from the directory where your file is located. For example, here is how you would submit a file called hello_world.c:

<PATH>/submit 2015 fall <COLLEGE> <COURSE> 0101 <ID> hello_world.c
Replace <COLLEGE> and <COURSE> with your own course number (enee 757 or cmsc 818v) and <ID> with an assignment number, as follows:
