Canoeing the Middle Zambezi
We spent 8 days canoeing on the middle Zambezi. Started from Chirundu (about 40KMs down river from the Kariba Dam) all the way to Kaneymba (near the border with Mozambique). The distance is roughly 180 KMs. The Zimbabwe side of the river is a series of national parks, while the Zambian side is about half covered with the Lower Zambezi National Park. We camped on islands and on the mainland. Hippos were never too far on this trip.
