There will be 120 minutes available for presentations, and we expect there to be about 8 project teams. Teams should therefore plan on 15 minutes per presentation, including setup time and questions. Unless you are a very fast talker, this works out to about 10 slides. These time limits will need to be be rigidly enforced in order to preserve some time to discuss the final exam and to allow for the completion of course evaluations.
Teams may organize their presentations in any way that they like, but the standard format for a conference presentation (statement of the problem, approach, evaluation design, results, and conclusion) would probably be the best choice. It is not necessary that each member of the team present, but you are welcome to organize your presentation to make that possible if you prefer.
A roughly 5 page (single spaced) written project report is due by 5 PM Friday of the same week. In addition the providing a more detailed exposition on the same information in your presentation, your paper should describe the contributions of each of your team members.
The presentations will be videotaped and made available on the Web unless you specifically request in advance that not be done for your presentation. The slides and papers will also be made available on the Web, so please submit your slides during or immediately after class and please submit your papers as Word, postscript, or PDF by email.
