Project Team Request

Projects will be created by teams of two students (if there are an odd number of students, I may create one team of three). My goal is to pair up people who can bring different skills to the team, and of course I would also like to pair up people who have common interests. I do not want to (or want not to) pair up friends; teams are created to accomplish tasks, and often your friends are not the best choice as project partners because you and they may have backgrounds that are more similar than most other pairings would be. So project pairings will be based on expertise and interests, but not on how well you know (or don't know) each other.

Send the professor an email (at oard@umd.edu) with the subject line PARTNERS naming four potential partners who you believe have skills and talents that complement yours. For each, tell me what it is about them that caused you to list them. If possible, I will select your project partner from this list, but I will only do so if it produces the kinds of diverse teams that we seek to have. So don't waste your selections by naming people who are more similar to you than most other students in the class are.
