A Powerful Advocate for Computer Science and Academic Freedom
Dr. Jack Minker is Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at the University of Maryland and a leading advocate for human rights for scientists worldwide. This event will include a series of short talks by former students, colleagues, senior administrators and other special guests who will examine the storied career of Jack. He was the founding chair of the University's Department of Computer Science and among the first members of the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies.
