I am a graduate student in the Computer Science doctorate program at the University of Maryland, College Park. I have completed my Masters of Engineering in Robotics program from here as well. I am a member of the [Autonomy | Robotics | Cognition] (ARC) Laboratory pursuing research under the guidance of Professor Yiannis Aloimonos and Dr. Cornelia Fermüller in perception and cognitive robotics.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in 2015.



Worked with and developed for Baxter and Ridgeback robots. Experienced in ROS.

Human-Robot Interaction

Developed web-based user interface using ROS and JS for controlling Baxter. Project done as part of summer internship.

Virtual & Augmented Reality

Developed for the Hololens and Oculus Rift for various projects, including human-robot collaboration interfaces.

Independent Research

Conducted two independent studies under Prof. Aloimonos on hand grasp taxonomy and localization through fusing sensor and visual data respectively.

Developed algorithm for detection and rectification technique for italicized words present in a scanned document image based on word boundaries passed through a Hough Transform. Submitted paper to ICVGIP 2014. Also published updated paper on "Detection and Retargeting of Emphasized Text for Content Summarization" to ICACCI 2016.

Worked with Baxter and Hololens for human-robot collaboration tasks using mixed reality. Conducted independent research under Prof. Aloimonos. Submitted paper abstract to European Society for Cognitive Systems on "Combining Visual Learning with Generic Cognitive Model for Appliance Representation".

Startup working on developing a home assistance robot system.
Worked with Baxter and Ridgeback robots.
Developed web-based ROS integrated user interface to control robot through mobile devices. Used ROS Web Tools, ROSLibJS and HTML5/jQuery for interface and Wit.AI and BASH for speech and NLP.
Developed ROS service for Ridgeback movement through PID implementation in Python.
Developed microwave LCD visual verification system using OpenCV and Python.
